Capital E

Monday the 18th of November was an awesome day for Room 13, (my class.)
We visited Capital E in Wellington. First when we arrived we had a small snack.Then we went upstairs to do  3D movie making. We had to partner up. My buddy was Catherine.
The guy who helped us was named Karl. He gave us instructions to make a land thing on earth sculptor. We then had to import it into iClone 5. And add props like houses,animals,trees and plants. I found it really fun and I would recommend it highly.

Later in the day we went into the studio area to make our news programme. We dressed up and learned exactly what our jobs do. We practiced and practiced and sat down ready to do our rehearsal. After the rehearsal we thought about what we needed to improve, and did our good version. I was a reporter with a "funky" outfit!!!!!

Social Dancing

Every Friday my class, and I go to Social Dancing. So far we have been to Mrs McKenzie, Mrs Sutton and Miss Swanson. Today we are going to Miss Hakkens. And we are still due to go to Mr Saunders next week. The dance we did with Mrs McKenzie was called the Jiffy Mix. Mrs Sutton's was called The fox, but it was in a foreign language. The Polka barn dance was Miss Swanson's. And Miss Hakken's is called Thriller. Mr Saunders will take the Jibedee.
We have had heaps of fun!!!

Run Jump Throw

This week our syndicate had Run Jump Throw trials.  I think I did quite well but I don't think I made the team. I really don't mind. After lunch we lined up on the court in our class lines then we got into our age groups: 9 year old girls, 9 year old boys, 10 year old girls, 10 year old boys and 11 year old girls and boys.
Then we continued onto the field. First I participated in long jump. Secondly I did shot put, and then I did sprints, long jump, and finally discus.

Monsters

This week was art week, my class made monsters. Here are the steps to make one:

1. First we chose some felt and a shape to trace around.
2. Next we got a marker and traced the shape.
3. We then cut the shape out
4. Now we can start to stitch. 
5. We stitched and stitched and stopped.
6. We left a hole for the stuffing. 
7. And started to stuff. 
8. After the stuffing we sewed up the hole that the stuffing went through.
9. We can now stick on the eyes, mouth and accessories.

Book Character Day

Last Friday the school participated in Book character day. One by one each whanau (Te Waka, Te Whenua, Nga Manu, Te Moana and Te Awa) would get up and parade around the court each Whanua had it's own music to dance to. I was the cow from Jack and the Beanstalk!

Last night the Talent Quest took place. Me and my friend Aria sang a song that I wrote about my dog.

My name is Lily. I go to Kapanui school, there I am a year 5.
I participate in Vaulting which is gymnastics on horses!I also do dancing with some of my friends.
My favourite subject at school is writing; closely followed by maths. I go to ODS (One Day School) on a Tuesday.
